Matthieu Barret Cotes du Rhone "Petit Ours" 750ml

$32.95

EXPERT NOTE

This unusually fresh and vibrant Cotes-du-Rhone is self-confidently all about the freshness of the syrah grape in cool locations. Brimming with wild-blackberry character and a touch of pepper. So juicy that it’s hard to believe it has 14% alcohol. Then comes a nice touch of moderately dry tannin at the finish to complete the attractive picture. From organically grown grapes.

WINEMAKER’S TASTING NOTES

The winemaking process must respect the purity of the unique aroma of the terroirs from which they originate. Our approach to winemaking is focused on producing wines that express delicately and precisely the subtleties of our grapes, with a style oriented towards finesse, freshness, and elegance. In addition to showcasing the strong identity of our grapes, our top priority is to offer pleasure through the tasting of our wines. Drinkability, balance, intensity, and aromatic precision are the fundamental elements that guide our winemaking and aging processes. We offer two distinct ranges of wines, both produced with the same convictions.

TASTE WINE

Look, Smell, Taste and Conclude

VISUAL

You can tell the age of the wine by the color in the glass, also if you look at the legs of the wine you can determine quality aspects

SMELL

When you first start smelling wine, think big to small. Are there fruits? Think of broad categories first, i.e. citrus, orchard, or tropical fruits in whites or, when tasting reds, red fruits, blue fruits, or black fruits. Getting too specific or looking for one particular note can lead to frustration

The Grape

The grape variety is very important to understand a wine.
Grape varieties are considered the most important factor in differentiating a wine

IN YOUR TONGUE

You will be able to perceive that the flavor runs throughout the mouth. You will notice how it runs along the sides, which indicates that it is a quality wine due to its structure.
